ART - Judith Lazier & Erin Jamieson:
Ms. Lazier and Ms. Jamieson are are both passionate and dedicated Ridgemont art teachers. We both have red hair, and have good fashion sense when we're not covered in paint and clay :) We help students photograph, draw, paint, sew, sculpt, weld, throw on the pottery wheel, play with electronics, animate and basically do whatever it takes to get ideas out of our students' heads and out there in the REAL world! We work hard to help students realize their creative dreams and their artistic potential. Former students study and work in art, design, architecture and digital arts and they often come back to Ridgemont to lend their expertise. Others are using art to build and better their communities. Our visual arts students are athletes, mathletes, fashionistas, shy thinkers, curious minds and have the hearts and brains to use their creativity to make positive change. They're a great crew!
In mini-enrichment, you will create fabulous and unique art you can wear, design art you can use and make art you can trade and share. It's a lot for one day! We will be exploring ceramics, screen-printing, alternative painting techniques and using electricity and sunlight to make art. Get a chance to use our pottery and mold-making studio and explore how art, technology and science collide all to help you express your own unique vision. See you in December!

There is a new neighbourhood being developed in Ottawa and I want to know what you think it should look like. In this workshop we will use computer models to study the area, then we will use our hands to build a physical model of our ideal neighbourhoods.
Mrs. McColeman is a geography and science teacher who loves to travel the world and understand everything she can about it. Do you think you might like to see yourself dance? Work hard at something and then perform it on stage? Try it - you might like to try to understand a bit about how strong ballet dancers need to be to stand on their toes or to keep their partner spinning. You might like to find out that you've got a mean body wave and can isolate those shoulders. Or maybe you would like to learn what it is like to put your thoughts and ideas to movement. Come and try it all in this condensed dance workshop class here at Ridgemont Hope to see you there ready to hip, pop, tendu, pirouette, and chasse! Dance is not only about high kicks, moon walks and jazz. Dance is also costumes, intelligence, courage and ideas. Dance can unify, celebrate, reflect and connect people together.
Wanted: boys and girls who love directing, being the choreographer, want to try something new or be creative.
